About JPOSA

The Jewish Parents of Ottawa Students Association was founded to support Jewish students and their parents while advocating for safe and inclusive public schools in Ottawa.

Our Values

Safety for Students: We prioritize the safety and well-being of Jewish students in schools, ensuring they can learn and grow in an environment free from harassment or discrimination.

Education: We value the power of knowledge in combating ignorance and prejudice. Education is our foremost tool in promoting understanding and tolerance.

Inclusivity: We believe in fostering an inclusive educational community where all students, regardless of their background, feel welcomed, respected, and valued.

Advocacy: We are dedicated advocates for the rights and interests of Jewish students and parents, speaking out against antisemitism and working to enact positive change within schools and communities.

Unity: We promote unity within the Jewish community and collaborate with allies from diverse backgrounds in the shared fight against antisemitism. We hope to contribute to a school environment where our shared humanity and similarities is celebrated in unity among all students and people.

Resilience: We embody resilience in the face of adversity, remaining steadfast in our commitment to combat antisemitism and promote a culture of acceptance and understanding.

Empowerment: We empower Jewish parents and students to assert their rights, stand up against discrimination, and actively participate in shaping their educational experiences.

Community: We cultivate a supportive and connected community of Jewish parents, students, educators, and allies, providing resources, support, and solidarity in the fight against antisemitism.
